ABANDONMENT

Nothing can satisfy you on earth until your are firstly, primarily, foremost, completely, abundantly and utterly satisfied in the Lord. From there, all satisfaction and meaning flows.

The true way to surrender is death unto oneself – this calls for abandonment unto the cross so that we are purified, refined, renewed, restored and completely seeking only His presence. Surrender all to gain all.

Only in the death of the self does oneself one find fulfillment - this is however easier said than done - what does this really mean? Death implies a distinct break from the things that we perceive gives life - yet, this is where our logic fails. We must part from the things that we believe gives life so as to attain the things in death that truly gives life according to God.

Freedom is to be controlled by nothing except the perfect will of the Lord, yet, in our subconscious and in our free will, we harbour what we want to do except what the Lord desires. Death of the self is not easy, yet that is abandonment and that is carrying the cross. The desires of the self leads us to seek our own way instead of allowing God to free us from all things that keep us captive.

Those who seek the path to the throne room of the Father seek a life in Spirit; this is a life that is free and alive with divine activity. Such seekers are not lovers of themselves but silently endure the cross for the sake of true life.

We will never understand true life until we die - yet this is against our prideful nature and intense desires to be masters of our own universe. Let us let part from the self and put aside all that hinders our spiritual walk so that we may be free!
